Just got back from Hornbach where I bought some happy-life happyplant for my nanos. Ive just been reading the instructions and though it says to use 5ml per 100 liters of water it doesnt say how often? I am not currently using any C02 or easycarb though I am thinking about using one of them for a short while to give my plants a good start before the shrimp go in. I have quite alot of plants, sötvattenstång, mosses, blyxa with some riccia coming next week.
Anybody who can help me? Du kan skriva på svenska

You take it when you change water about once a week is good. You shoudent put it in more often.
De flesta andra näringspreparat är en dos/vecka, jag har tittat på de 2 jag har här hemma och det är så på bägge

Mossa och sötvattenstång är inga växter som behöver näringstillförsel men dina Blyxa kan behöva det:)
Tack…I thought all plants needed it :oops: I am growing the moss under some net and its just started to grow through it so a bit of plant food will help it along I hope! The tång is growing really well though…been in a new tank with no help just light 8 hours per day. The blyxa is going pretty good too

Visst behöver både mossa och tång växtgödning med. Bägge är stora slukare av fosfat och tången slukar även en hel del av kalium.
Nu vet jag inte exakt vad Happy plant är, eftersom jag använder PMDD, men man säger som regel att man doserar växtgödning efter varje VB.
I EI (Estimative index) metoden så “nollar” man karet varje vecka med ett större VB (30-50%) sen tillsätter man växtgödning på nytt. Denna metod kör alla vi som har växtkar och kör high-tech.
Skall man köra karet low-tech så gör man tvärtom, då gör man få och små VB och tillsätter bara växtgödning vid behov. Alltså inte varje vecka, utan bara när växterna uppvisar brister.
Det är mycket enklare att köra ett high-tech kar även om det kräver mer teknik och veckoskötsel. Sen så är det lättare att få bra vattenvärden med regelbundna VB med.
Hi Anette, I agree with you. The high tech method is much better, why wait till your plants are looking sick until you add plant food…by then it might me too late to save them! I have put some in my nanos today, both easycarb and happyplant. I do a weekly 40% water change so it shouldnt be so difficult to remember to dose weekly. Easy carb im using daily but only half dose as Im scared of harming my shrimp when they go in.
