Just wanted to let everyone know that I found out that Bauhaus is selling Akadama as well (at least the one here in Norrköping) 
Vad är Akadama?
Akadama is japanese clay. Normally used for Bonsai, but in an aquarium it acts like an active soil and lowers the PH for example.
Låter lustigt att ha lera i akvariet… grumlar det inte vattnet??? 
Nää, den är inte som lera i konsistensen, den är som soilen och kattsanden !!!

I malavikaren använder man ibland kattsand typ dolomit…
Jag har enbart kattsand i nästan alla mina kar och det fungerar helt perfect tillsammans med både räkor och snäckor, men jag skulle vilja pröva något annat också !! Funderar på Akadama eller soil men de är Ph-sänkande och alltså inte bra för snäckor som behöver mycket calsium. Tänker göra ett test med lite soil och kattsand blandat och Akadama och kattsand för att se hur det fungerar, jag skulle vilja ha en mörkare botten i mitt 250L som jag ska riva och göra om helt då det behövs en totalmakeover där !!

Let me explain the thing with the “double line brand” since that is a common mistake I have learned by researching.
The english word “brand” is falsely translated into “bränd” here. But in this context it means “märke” or tradesmark. “Double line brand” means correctly “two lines märke” (The two red lines on the bag under the japanese words). So “two lines brand” is the company name. It does NOT mean the Akadama is burned twice. The Akadama from “Double lines brand” is dried at 220°C.
There is another Akadama from “Green Line” (Yaki-Akadama) that is actually burned at 1200°C. I haven’t seen that one in Sweden so far.
Most of the people in the german räkforums use the “normal” dried Akadama in their Aquariums.
So…
1l Akadama from Bauhaus costs 89,- (expensive). I don’t know if it is the Double Line brand since it is a very small bag and the design looks a bit different from the large bags. And all is in Japanese :?
